How to use local access numbers

how to use phone cardsPhone card is the simplest way for making international calls. The process of making calls is made simple by what is known as ‘access number’. Access number is the unique number allotted to a telephone or phone card and this number is dialed first so as to get connected to the international calling zone. These are non-geographical numbers and so they can be accessed from any part of the globe.

The main purpose of using this number is to make international calls at the lowest possible tariff. In many cases, tariff is as low as 2 cents per minute. As soon as the card is bought, this unique access number is allotted to it. Whenever a call is to be made, the caller has to just dial the access number and he is connected to the international calling zone. Thereafter, he has to dial the country code, area code etc. This access number also called as local access number is also allotted to those who buy the calling card online. In fact, buying online is safer because the caller gets the information about the PIN number, local access number and directions for using the card.

When it is purchased online, the person will not get the physical card except the PIN and the access number. So, the caller actually saves on cost of printing the card and mailing to his address etc. It would be sufficient if he keeps these numbers confidential. So, the caller need not use the physical card; but it would be sufficient if he dials the local access numbers first. That would be sufficient for the calling company to take the caller to the toll free calling zone.
